I created a separate blog for this purpose, but you know what? Keeping one blog is more than enough, and I hadn't counted on grad school, tutoring, writing, and the social skills all of that required to be so taxing. I can't be sure how many items I checked off that original list, but it was not quite 101. Probably closer to 1.
The direction of my life has drastically changed since that list was drafted, and I feel more driven to complete things because I want to, not to distract me from something else in my life. I decided to compile a new list, starting today, 01/11/12 and ending 10/08/14.
I've included a variety of goals under topics like Entertainment, Creativity, Travel, etc. Some are serious "bucket list" type things, and some are just for fun, to step out of my shell and take time to laugh at life. The entire list has its own home under the 101 in 1001 tab, and I'll make updates as I mark things off.

A fun list is good - keeps us young!
ReplyDeleteIf you get a video of #18, that would be gold! Seeing you bang on the drums would be pretty cool too.
ReplyDeletePersonalized letters are the best. I used to be a part of this awesome movement called PostCardX - this website where people posted their addresses and would send postcards (often hand made) to each other all around the world. I have a box of all of my post cards - it's one of my most prized possessions.
ReplyDeleteLove this list. Do it all.
Alex - God forbid I ever get serious!
ReplyDeleteGeof - Forget a wingman, you can be my cameraman! Then we'll get our band together.
Jas - I love that idea! I used to trade Artist Trading Cards with people - not exactly a postcard, but still pretty cool. I just want mail to make people happy.
I was seeing all the comments and wondering why you hadn't answered my question, and now I see that my comment apparently never saved. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat is the significance of the 1001? Is that the time period in which you are supposed to complete the list?
Callie - I tried to answer your question yesterday; it was emailed to me but not posted! I guess someone just picked 1001 days to make it sound catchy. The title & time period weren't my idea, it was just something I saw elsewhere on the internet and adopted.
ReplyDeleteI especially admire your "For Other's" section. Most people's 101 in 1001 list is all about things they want to do for themselves. Plus, some of those things would be fun to do!
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you'd like help with #71, let me know. The mountains are gorgeous up here, and hiking in the fall is the best!
Stephanie - Thank you! I'm definitely going to need help with a lot of these.
